Mental health chiefs to launch expanded service for war veterans

    Published: 13 October, 2016

MENTAL health chiefs are launching a new, expanded service for “war veterans” on Monday in the St Pancras Conference Centre.

The London Veterans’ Service, funded by the NHS, will work with Camden and Islington Foundation Trust to support veterans – in custody and in the community – to improve their mental health and “get their life back on track”.

Many ex-servicemen suffer from post traumatic stress disorders and have problems with alcohol or drugs as a result of their experiences fighting in wars. The service is open to all ex-serving members of the UK Armed Forces living in, or who are registered with a GP in, London.
