THERE’S a new sound hitting the Camden music scene that is gaining fans quicker than disappointed shoppers are throwing away their HMV gift vouchers.
Describing their style as “alternative metal”, Laid8 return to the stage this Friday at the Barfly for their first big gig of 2013.
Having already won over crowds at a string of top venues, including the Dublin Castle and the Enterprise, the band will no doubt once again deliver a melodic and dramatic set full of aggression and raw emotion.
With female singer Tal Itay leading the vocals, Laid8 have been likened to American rock band Evanescence, although they would rightly be quick to stress that their uncompromising style stands on its own esteem. Their debut album These Faded Lines proved a massive hit back in their homeland of Israel, with singles like Flush and Your Mistakes (both are on YouTube) striking a nerve in the hearts of their fans.
They’re now hitting London to bring their acclaimed music to a new audience and will be onstage at the Barfly from 8.30pm.
