SCREENINGS of live opera from the New York Met get under way again this Saturday with Berlioz’s epic Les Troyens lasting more than five hours.
Start time at cinemas is therefore one hour earlier than usual, 5pm rather than 6pm.
A starry cast has been assembled for the grand five-act opera, Berlioz’s most ambitious work.
Singing are soprano Deborah Voigt, mezzo Susan Graham, tenor Bryn Hymel and baritone Dwayne Croft.
Other screenings of Met operas in coming weeks include Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Wagner’s Parsifal and Handel’s Giulio Cesare.
