CHRISTMAS is still almost a month away but the New Journal already has its gift list checked.
Every year we help raise thousands of pounds through generous reader donations to our Hamper Appeal.
We buy and deliver presents, children’s toys and a hamper packed full of winter grub to those who need it most.
For many, Christmas is a happy time full of cheer and bringing back fond childhood memories. It is a time when families spend time together and celebrate their love for one another.
But for the less fortunate – the people who have lost loved ones, who live alone or cannot afford to live-up to costly expectations of a big family day – it can be unbearable.
Last year was one of our biggest ever hauls to make sure everyone enjoys the big day. The leftover cash went to old people’s homes and lunch clubs across Camden.
So, dig deep. Tell your friends. Put a fundraiser on. Every year readers come up with new and exciting ways of helping out.

And if you know somebody who you think deserves to be included in our annual rounds send in your nominations too. A surprise hamper reminds people they haven’t been forgotten at this time of year.
