• YOUR correspondent (Never mind reward points, let’s have a proper recycling system, December 22) rightly exposes the shambles of the council’s recycling “policy”.
Camden has one of the worst recycling records in London.
However in Queen’s Crescent local shops create tons of cardboard and plastic material each year. Yet this is all dumped in landfill. To make matters worse the council, I understand, blocked proposals by a local voluntary organisation to bale and sell this at no cost to taxpayers. Residents are still waiting for the decision on which areas will get the short straw of fortnightly bin collections. Perhaps councillors could give us a response.
