SANTI Cazorla has revealed that he would jump at the chance to sign a new contract with Arsenal.

The 31-year-old midfielder hit our headlines last week when he surprised boys from Pro Touch Soccer Academy by turning up at their training session at Market Road in Islington.

The Spaniard, who is out of contract in the summer, recently confirmed that he is yet to receive an offer to extend his deal at the Emirates Stadium.

But he insists that he is “very happy” at the club, playing down rumours that he is going to agree a pre-contract with Atletico Madrid in January.

“Atletico Madrid are an amazing club,” Cazorla told Spanish radio network Cadena SER.

“Just have a look at their results. Manager Diego Simeone is doing great things. It is not easy to reach two Champions League finals and win the league.

“But I am happy at Arsenal. I am trusted by the manager and my team-mates. I am feeling important here, and if they’ll offer me a new contract, I’ll sign it because I am very happy with this great club.”

Meanwhile, Gunners goalkeeper Petr Cech believes Arsenal’s late winner at Burnley on Sunday was “the best present” the players could give manager Arsene Wenger to mark his 20th anniversary at the club.

Laurent Koscielny struck a controversial winner with the very last kick of the game when he somehow managed to kick the ball against his own arm and bundle into the back of the net.

“Whoever got the final touch for the goal on Sunday, I don’t really care! They are a vital three points,” said Cech.

“It was the best way the players could have marked Wenger’s anniversary, with the win and a resilient display.

“It was a very difficult away game and we responded well to the way the game was played. We are obviously very pleased with the victory, and with the three points. ”
