Camden has been one of the most generous councils when it comes to funding the third sector

    • IT is always great to have the support of past trustees who have given time and effort for free and cared a great deal about the services at Highgate Newtown Community Centre (Success of centre is little thanks to Camden, January 19).

    Funding is a complex issue.

Camden have awarded a new core grant which has given confidence to private funders to donate.

This week alone Arsenal football and Santander gave grants to support the community centre.

Unlike many charities we continue grow and increase services and the new £3.8million investment on top of the new core funding is unique to the United Kingdom in funding terms.

Camden has over the years been one of the most generous councils when it comes to funding the third sector.

As central government funding cuts start to bite further we will do all we can to support Camden raising funding to support our free services and the local community
