HAMPSTEAD antiques and bookseller Keith Fawkes was serenaded by Marilyn Monroe on his 75th birthday.

Photographer Antonia Moore put on her best white gown and sang “Happy Birthday Mr President”, presenting him with a birthday cake at La Gaffe restaurant.

The New Year’s Day party continued in King William IV, Hampstead High Street, which has recently been taken over by new management.

Mr Fawkes said: “It was a lovely do, surrounded by a small group of people I know from nearby. For my 70th we had a major party, but this was different – it was very nice. Antonia as Marilyn Monroe was slightly bizarre –but fun!”

He added: “They’ve done a marvellous job with the pub, by the way – doubles for £4!”

Mr Fawkes, a direct descendent of Guy Fawkes, has run the bookshop in Flask Walk for 50 years after buying it aged 25.
