We call on our MPs to keep options open on Brexit

    Published: 5 January, 2017

To Keir Starmer MP, Tulip Siddiq MP, Jeremy Corbyn MP, Emily Thornberry MP

    • IT’S likely you will soon be asked to pass legislation to trigger Article 50 to start the process of the UK leaving the EU.

Three-quarters of your constituents, including hundreds of our supporters and you yourselves, voted to remain in the EU. Only a third of people nationwide support Brexit at any cost (ICM November poll).

Please keep our options open. We ask you to work urgently across parliament to amend any Article 50 legislation to require the final terms of any Brexit deal to be approved by parliament. Don’t give the government a blank cheque. Don’t vote away your control. Thank you.

    The Brexit Mess

In all honesty, I can't see how MP's could vote against Brexit. We had a referendum and have to accept the results. I know it's hard to come to terms with but democracy must come first.
