ARSENAL’S Under-19s were held to a 1-1 draw by Bulgaria’s Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday in their fourth outing in the UEFA Youth League.

Reiss Nelson fired the Gunners in front after 36 minutes at the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium in Sofia, but the hosts hit back in the 73rd minute through Preslav Petrov to salvage a point.

The result leaves Arsenal third in their group on five points, and desperately needing a result against Paris Saint-Germain in their next game to avoid being eliminated from the competition.

Meanwhile, the Gunners Under-23s ran riot against Sunderland on Friday in Premier League Two.

It was a fairly even affair at Meadow Park until Chris Willock was brought down in the box by Joshua Robson in the 28th minute, allowing team-mate Stephy Mavididi to slot home from 12-yards.

Two goals in three minutes ended the game as a contest. Nelson slid home Willock’s pass from close range in the 52nd minute, before Kaylen Hinds reacted quickest to a loose ball to score a third.

Willock topped off a fine display with a well deserved goal in the 64th minute to give Andries Jonker’s side a convincing 4-0 win, and Sunderland a long trip home.
